Job Description:  Executive Director

Part-Time Position from July 2017- July 2018

The deVeber Institute is a registered Canadian charity which conducts and disseminates research on topics connected to human life in its biological, social and ethical dimensions. These topics are selected for study depending on emerging medical, technological and social developments.

We’re looking for someone to manage the Institute during a maternity leave.

Professional Skills Required:  A person with a strong knowledge of life issues (specifically ethics surrounding abortion, assisted suicide, and palliative care) and who possesses the following skills:

Ø  Strong time management and independent working skills.

Ø  Knowledge of life issues and ability to communicate and network in a tactful and diplomatic manner with organizations and contacts.

Ø  Organized, detailed oriented, and articulate individual with strong writing and speaking skills.

Ø  A team facilitator able to coordinate projects and plans with board members, advisors, and associates.

Ø  Committed to providing excellent service to donors, contacts, supporters, and inquiring individuals about our ongoing research and work.

Ø  Responsible individual who is able to complete financial entries and full bookkeeping responsibilities.

Ø  Candidate must possess strong working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.  Skill in internet research is mandatory. Proficient in creating visual materials including posters, booklets, brochures and fundraising tools.

Accountability: Hired by and accountable to the Board of Directors.

Hours: Part-time position, 20 hours per week.
